Bill Skarsgård, Ray Nicholson and Tom Francis joined director Peter Berg at a special screening of The Mosquito Bowl in New York on Wednesday.
The BAFTA-hosted event took place at the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Robin Williams Center, where the stars and filmmaker discussed the new war film during a question-and-answer session following the screening.
The Mosquito Bowl follows four football stars in wartime
Set after the attack on Pearl Harbor, the film follows four leading American college football players who put their sporting careers aside to enlist in the Marines.
As they prepare for the invasion of Okinawa, the men take part in a celebrated game featuring some of the greatest players in history. For many of them, it will be their final match.
Berg directed the film and co-wrote the screenplay with Mark L Smith. It is based on Buzz Bissinger’s 2022 book, The Mosquito Bowl: A Game of Life and Death in World War II.
The wider cast includes Nicholas Galitzine, Brent Comer, Dominic Bogart, Jack Ingram, Ella Newton, Peter Berg, Lola Bond, Stacy Clausen, Billy Smith, Steven Sammut, Blake Erickson, Claudia Ware and Pat McAfee.
The Mosquito Bowl is due to open in select cinemas on October 30 before becoming available to stream on Netflix from November 25.
Nicholson recently revealed that he required knee surgery after suffering an injury while filming the movie.
