An 18-year-old from Vernon, Connecticut, has died after falling from a paddleboard into Jenkins Pond in Falmouth, Massachusetts, police said.
Emergency services were called to the pond at about 5.49pm on Monday, August 31, after the teenager’s friend reported that he had gone underwater and could not be found.
Falmouth Fire and Rescue crews launched a boat and recovered the teenager from the water. Life-saving treatment was carried out before he was taken to Falmouth Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The victim’s name has not been released. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of his death, officials said.
