Todd Chrisley has defended his daughter Savannah after she was branded a “gold digger” online following news of her marriage to Jason Galanis, 56.
Savannah, 29, and Galanis have also revealed that they are expecting their first child and recently announced the baby’s sex. Their 27-year age gap has drawn criticism, alongside scrutiny of Galanis’s criminal past.
Galanis was convicted in connection with multimillion-dollar securities fraud schemes and served time in federal prison in 2020. His sentence was commuted by President Donald Trump in March 2025.
Todd Chrisley rejects ‘gold digger’ claims
Speaking on his Two Sons and Me podcast, Todd, 57, challenged comments about the size of Savannah’s ring and claims that she was with a billionaire for his money.
His mother, Nanny Faye Chrisley, interrupted with a joke of her own, saying: “Oh, good. I don’t blame her. I’d dig, too. If I knew one and I stood a chance like her, I’d be digging 24/7, till I got him.”
Todd laughed before adding that, if Savannah really were a gold digger, “it would have helped out if she would have started digging when I was paying all these legal fees.”
He went on to argue that his daughter had built up her own income through her work in entertainment and business.
“What do they think this girl has done her whole life, from the time that the cameras started rolling? What do they think she did with her clothing line, with her cosmetics, that she didn’t make money? What do they think about Good Girl RX? How do they think this woman lives?” he said.
Todd and Julie Chrisley were pardoned by Trump over tax evasion and bank fraud. Savannah has also responded to the online criticism herself.
