Donald Trump is due to tour the National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington, Texas, on Thursday, 10 September, where he is expected to meet Medal of Honor recipients and deliver remarks.
The president’s visit is scheduled for around midday local time, following his participation in the Republican National Committee’s two-day midterm convention in nearby Dallas.
Trump’s National Medal of Honor Museum visit
Mr Trump will receive a private tour of the museum before addressing invited guests and pre-credentialed media. The visit is expected to focus on the stories of US service members recognised for acts of exceptional bravery.
The National Medal of Honor Museum, located at 1861 AT&T Way in Arlington’s entertainment district, opened to the public in 2025. Its exhibitions explore the history of the country’s highest military honour and the lives of those who received it.
The museum will be closed to the general public throughout Thursday because of the presidential visit, according to a notice on its website.
Residents and motorists have been warned to expect delays, rolling road closures and disruption along the route of the presidential motorcade.
Mr Trump is also expected to speak again at the Republican convention later on Thursday. Vice-President JD Vance, Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick and US Senator Ted Cruz are among those due to appear at the event.
The visit comes a day after the president delivered the keynote address at the convention, where he praised Republican leaders and promoted his administration’s record ahead of November’s midterm elections.
