Two people have died after a shooting on Heather Stone Way in Lawrenceville, Georgia, with police investigating whether the violence was connected to drugs.
Gwinnett County officers were called to the residential street at about 8.30pm on Wednesday, November 4, following reports that someone had been shot. They found two victims at the scene, both of whom had died.

A third person was still at the location when officers arrived and was taken into custody. Police said the individual was co-operating with detectives and was the only person considered a suspect at that stage.
Cpl Angela Carter, a public information officer for the Gwinnett County Police Department, said investigators believed the people involved knew one another. She added that the incident was “potentially” drug-related, although detectives had not established what led to the gunfire.
Police said there was no continuing threat to the wider community.
The identities and ages of the two people who died have not been released. Authorities have also not disclosed the identity of the person detained or announced any charges.
Investigators were interviewing the detained individual as they worked to establish the sequence of events. It remained unclear whether the victims were related or lived in the neighbourhood.
Cpl Carter said the victims were visible from public areas, leading several neighbours to call emergency services after hearing the shots. Detectives are expected to provide further information as the homicide investigation develops.
