Tyler Perry has bought a $30 million mansion in Puerto Rico and plans to establish a production office on the island, with shows set to be filmed there.
The 14,475-square-foot property sits on nearly 1.4 acres in a gated community. Perry is understood to have completed the purchase of the five-bedroom, 10-bathroom home, which was built in 2021.
The house includes a cinema, an open-plan kitchen, a swimming pool and a gym. It is expected to provide the film-maker with a base to relax as well as work while in the Caribbean.
Perry’s Atlanta studios will continue operating, while the new Puerto Rico office will support productions filmed on the island. The property’s size could also allow it to accommodate some of his production requirements.
He joins a number of high-profile figures associated with Puerto Rico in recent years. Logan Paul and Jake Paul live on the island, while Paul Rudd and Mariska Hargitay have been seen holidaying there.
