Manchester United face a decision over Leny Yoro’s future, with AC Milan reportedly considering a summer move for the young French defender.
The Italian club are understood to have made Yoro a priority target as they plan a defensive rebuild, while former United manager Ruben Amorim is said to be keen on working with him again.
Yoro joined United from Lille in 2024 for a fee of about €62 million. However, injuries and changes in selection have disrupted his progress at Old Trafford, and regular starts have been difficult to secure under Michael Carrick this season.
AC Milan weighing move for Leny Yoro
AC Milan believe a fee of between €40 million and €50 million could be enough to open serious negotiations for the 20-year-old.
United are under no contractual pressure to sell, with Yoro’s current deal running until 2029 and including an option for a further year. A move at that price would also represent a lower fee than the club paid for him.
Amorim has previously spoken highly of Yoro. After the defender impressed and scored against Lyon in 2025, the Portuguese coach said: “He’s really good. He’s really confident. He’s improving his physicality.”
He later added: “He’s a top, top, top player.”
Yoro has since strengthened his international credentials, making his senior France debut this month and completing the full 90 minutes in a 4-1 Nations League victory over Belgium.
Although his development at United has been slower than anticipated, he has already gained significant Premier League and European experience. His pace, composure in possession and ability to defend high up the pitch remain qualities highly valued in a modern centre-back.
With Yoro still only 20, United must now decide whether to accept Milan’s reported interest or continue his development by giving him more consistent opportunities at Old Trafford.
