Alanis Morissette has come out as pansexual during a candid interview on the “Handsome” podcast, telling co-hosts she is attracted to people regardless of sex, gender identity or gender expression.
The singer made the disclosure in an episode released on November 3, after being asked whether hurt caused by men had made her want to become a lesbian.
“I’m pansexual, so, yeah,” Morissette replied.
Co-host Tig Notaro appeared surprised and asked: “Wait, you’re not really pansexual, are you?”
Morissette answered: “I am.”
Pansexuality refers to attraction to people of all sexes, gender identities and gender expressions.
The disclosure follows another candid conversation by the singer in recent weeks, when she discussed her experience of postpartum depression on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast.
Morissette told host Alex Cooper that her symptoms became worse after each of her three pregnancies and that she experienced what she described as “harrowing” invasive thoughts.
