Alicia Vikander joined her husband Michael Fassbender on the red carpet in Venice on Sunday for the premiere of The Echo Chamber, wearing a blue gown with ruffled detailing.
The couple attended the screening at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, where Vikander’s latest film is being shown in the main competition.
Directed by Andrea Pallaoro, the Italian-Belgian production stars Vikander alongside Luca Marinelli and Susan Sarandon. The film explores a troubled relationship shaped by love, dependence and control.
The Echo Chamber is based on the final screenplay written by the late Italian filmmaker Bernardo Bertolucci, with Ilaria Bernardini and Ludovica Rampoldi also credited as writers. The Venice Biennale lists the film’s official competition screening at the festival’s Sala Grande.
Vikander and Fassbender, who married in 2017, previously appeared together at the Venice festival for the premiere of The Light Between Oceans in 2016.
