A 75-year-old man from Wisconsin has been identified after his body was found in Lake Superior at a beach in Minnesota.
John Driscoll, of Barron, Wisconsin, was discovered face down in the water at Split Rock River Wayside Rest beach at about 2.50pm on Tuesday, October 6, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Emergency crews, including the Lake County Rescue Squad, attended the scene and recovered the body. The discovery was reported by a member of the public.
The death remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office and the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office. Officials have not said how Mr Driscoll died or what led to him being in the lake.
The sheriff’s office said no further information was available while the investigation continued.
