Best-of-five men’s tennis will remain at the Australian Open, according to the tournament’s new boss, Andrew Abdo.
Abdo has confirmed there are no plans to change the format, meaning men’s matches at the Melbourne grand slam will continue to be played over a maximum of five sets.
The decision maintains the Australian Open’s existing approach to men’s singles competition under its new leadership.
