Body-worn camera footage shows Fredericksburg police officers rescuing a woman from a burning home after rushing into the smoke-filled property on Hillcrest Drive in Virginia.
Officers Dylan Smith and Lawrence entered the residence in the 200 block of Hillcrest Drive on Tuesday, November 3, after an emergency call reported that someone was still inside.
The footage shows the officers moving through heavy smoke and navigating extensive clutter and obstructions as they searched for the woman. A man at the scene directed them towards the kitchen, where she was found on the floor.
One officer reached the woman and pulled her towards the exit, with the second officer helping to bring her through the debris and out of the burning building.
The rescued woman and an adult male occupant were treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital. Both officers were also treated for smoke inhalation.
Fire crews brought the blaze under control. The cause of the fire and the condition of the two residents were under investigation, police said.
