South Hi Mount Elementary School in Fort Worth, Texas, is being temporarily relocated after an engineering assessment raised concerns about part of the campus, district officials have confirmed.
Students and staff are moving from the school on Birchman Avenue to the vacant building formerly used by Western Hills Primary, about five miles away near Interstate 30 and Cherry Lane.
The relocation has been described as a precautionary measure following an on-site engineering review. The affected section of South Hi Mount Elementary has been cleared while Fort Worth Independent School District considers its next steps.
No date has been set for pupils and staff to return to the original campus. Families have been told that a decision is expected in the coming weeks.
