Zac Affleck has addressed his estranged wife Jen Affleck’s divorce filing, saying he had known for about a year that she wanted to end their marriage.
The reality star said the filing itself came as a surprise, but Jen’s wish for a divorce did not. He discussed the split in a video shared on social media.
Zac said Jen told him how she felt after appearing on “Dancing with the Stars”. He claimed he pleaded with her to stay and said he was prepared to become whatever she wanted, but the couple were ultimately unable to make their relationship work.
Despite the breakdown of their marriage, Zac said he still loved Jen and would continue to support her.
His immediate priority, he said, was working out how they would move forward with their children. The couple have three children and are expecting a fourth.
Zac said he felt he had failed his children, but maintained that he and Jen were committed to giving them as normal a childhood as possible.
