Chris Brown is due to be sentenced for an affray at a London nightclub after pleading guilty to attacking music producer Abraham Diaw with a bottle.
The Grammy-winning singer, 37, entered the plea at Southwark Crown Court in July over the incident at Tape nightclub in Mayfair in February 2023.
Brown had previously denied attacking Mr Diaw. Prosecutors said surveillance footage captured the fight in front of people inside the club.
In return for his guilty plea, prosecutors dropped charges of assault, attempting to cause grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon, identified as a bottle.
Brown’s friend and vocal coach, Omololu Akinlolu, also pleaded guilty to affray and is due to be sentenced alongside him.
Brown left the UK after the incident but was arrested at a hotel in Manchester in May 2025 after travelling to the city for a concert.
He had been released on bail of £5 million, allowing him to continue touring in Europe and North America. He was granted bail again on Friday ahead of Monday’s sentencing.
Affray carries a maximum sentence of three years in prison.
Brown rose to fame as a teenager in 2005 and won the Grammy for best R&B album in 2011 for F.A.M.E. He won the same category again in 2025 for 11:11 (Deluxe).
He has faced repeated legal difficulties since being convicted of a felony over the 2009 assault of his then-girlfriend, Rihanna, shortly before they were due to perform at the Grammys.
Brown has also been arrested in several US states over altercations. In 2019, he was arrested in Paris and questioned on suspicion of rape before being released without charge.
