Model Alex Pike made a dramatic statement at Derby Day in a black Jason Grech dress paired with an elaborate custom creation by milliner Richard Nylon.
The look combined the clean lines of a pencil dress with a striking, forest-inspired structure that rose around her head and shoulders. Styled by Alicia Marshall, the piece was designed to blur the line between headwear and sculpture.
“We started with a silhouette of the black dress, and Richard has built this around me. He really wanted to encapsulate me almost in a forest,” Pike said.
The outfit’s sharp protrusions also created a practical hazard. Asked whether she was concerned about poking someone in the eye, Pike replied: “I actually have already.”
She added: “I bumped into one of my good friends already, so, no sudden moves!”
