Ellidy Pullin has announced her engagement to Brock Wadsworth, six years after the death of her former partner, Olympic snowboarder Alex ‘Chumpy’ Pullin.
The 34-year-old Gold Coast influencer and podcaster shared the news on Instagram after Wadsworth proposed during a trip to Europe.
In photographs posted alongside the announcement, Pullin was pictured in a black lace dress, displaying her diamond ring as she held a glass of champagne on a beach.
“HE WANTS TO BE STUCK WITH ME FOREVER,” she wrote in the caption, adding crying and ring emojis.
The engagement comes less than a year after Pullin first confirmed that she had begun a new relationship, having previously spoken openly about her hesitation over dating again after Chumpy’s death.
She discussed the relationship on her Darling, Shine! podcast, explaining that Wadsworth had been a longtime friend and that she had taken time to consider the decision before making their romance public.
“I’m just so happy right now, and I’m really enjoying the feelings and the emotions and falling in love with Brock and having this new love,” she said.
Pullin also acknowledged feeling conflicted about moving on, saying she had once believed she and Chumpy would remain together for life.
“I feel guilty saying that because, obviously, there were so many times where I just thought it would just be Chump and I forever,” she said. “I didn’t make a rash decision. I sat on this for pretty much a whole year, and I’m really stoked with where I am with him right now.”
The couple later went public on social media during a romantic trip to Bali, where Wadsworth shared a photograph of them kissing. Pullin has since said he has formed a close bond with her daughter, Minnie.
Chumpy died aged 32 on July 8, 2020, after drowning in a spearfishing accident on the Gold Coast. Pullin subsequently underwent posthumous sperm retrieval and welcomed their daughter in October 2021 following IVF treatment.
