Sadiq Farhad Azad, 33, has been charged with raping a 14-year-old boy in an alleyway off London Road in Portsmouth and is due to appear at the city’s Crown Court.
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary said the alleged incident happened between 7pm and 8pm on Thursday 6 August, after the boy spoke to a man on a bus who was not previously known to him.
Police received a report about the alleged rape on Tuesday 11 August and launched an investigation. Azad, an Iraqi national of no fixed address, was subsequently arrested and charged with rape of a boy aged between 13 and 15.
Officers also linked him to a separate report made by a woman in her 20s on Tuesday 1 September. She alleged that a man had stalked her for about a year and had criminally damaged a family member’s car.
Azad faces additional charges of stalking under section 4A of the Protection from Harassment Act and criminal damage to property valued at less than £5,000.
He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Portsmouth Crown Court on Monday 7 September. The allegations have not been tested in court, and he is presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
