Jaguar Land Rover is recalling 93,997 Range Rover vehicles in the US after identifying a fault that could allow water to collect around the rear-view camera and cause its image to become distorted or disappear altogether.
The recall affects certain 2022 to 2026 model-year Land Rover Range Rover vehicles built between 8 July 2021 and 4 June 2026. The vehicles were manufactured at Jaguar Land Rover’s Solihull plant and sold in the US and federalised territories. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said the tailgate water-management system may not drain sufficiently around the camera. Prolonged exposure to pooled water can damage the unit, leaving drivers with a blurred image or no rear-view display on the vehicle’s touchscreen.
That could mean drivers fail to see pedestrians or objects behind the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury or a crash. Jaguar Land Rover has reported no accidents, injuries or fires linked to the issue in the US. Range Rover recall repairs
Dealers will carry out the repair free of charge by drilling additional drainage holes into the underside of the tailgate trim around the camera. The camera will then be checked and replaced if it has been damaged.
The recall report said Jaguar Land Rover received 2,295 US claims and field reports involving camera replacements between 3 August 2022 and 28 September 2026. An investigation launched on 31 July found that most of the returned cameras examined by the supplier had failed because of water ingress. A revised seal for the tailgate trim housing the camera was introduced in production on 4 June 2026, according to the filing.
Dealers are due to be notified on 29 October, while letters to owners are expected to be distributed by 11 December 2026. Owners can check whether their vehicle is affected through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s vehicle recall service or by contacting an authorised Land Rover retailer.
