JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes have revealed they independently chose the same engagement ring design while discussing their future together, despite not being engaged.
The 23-year-old singer and dancer said she and her 33-year-old partner compared their ideas during dinner after agreeing to reveal their choices at the same time.
Siwa had previously told her mother, Jessalyn Siwa, that she wanted Hughes to design her ring himself if he ever proposed. “I want him to design it completely. I want it to be completely his design,” she recalled saying.
She had also searched online and found an image of what she considered her ideal ring. When the couple showed each other their selections, they discovered they had chosen the same photograph.
“One, two, three. And we flipped it. And we were holding the same photo from Google!” Siwa said during an interview at the Industry Dance Awards in Los Angeles on Wednesday October 21.
She described the ring as featuring a blue, emerald-shaped stone, adding that the chances of them selecting the same image were “so slim”.
Siwa said the relationship was going “great” and described it as “lovely” as they approach their year-and-a-half anniversary.
The pair met while competing on Celebrity Big Brother UK in April 2025. Their friendship later became romantic and they confirmed their relationship that June.
They have spoken openly about the possibility of marriage. Earlier this year, Siwa said attending her brother’s wedding had given her “wedding fever” and that she would be ready to marry whenever Hughes felt the time was right.
