Former Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has been offered to Liverpool as the 34-year-old considers his next move as a free agent.
Intermediaries are understood to be exploring Premier League options for the veteran right-back, with Manchester City and Fulham also approached about a possible deal. No club has yet made a firm commitment to sign him.
Dani Carvajal offered to Liverpool
Liverpool could view Carvajal as a short-term solution to their lack of depth at right-back. Jeremie Frimpong is currently the main senior option in the position, while the club have been linked with the need for greater defensive reliability and experience.
The Spaniard’s availability would allow Liverpool to strengthen their squad without paying a transfer fee. His leadership could also appeal to a side seeking to challenge for major honours again after a disappointing previous campaign.
Carvajal’s departure from Real Madrid was confirmed by the Spanish club in May, bringing an end to a 13-year spell in the first team. He made 450 appearances for Madrid and won 27 major trophies, including six European Cups, according to the club.
He also played a key role in Spain’s Euro 2024 triumph and remains one of the most decorated right-backs of his generation. UEFA records that Carvajal has appeared in six Champions League final victories, matching the competition record.
TEAMtalk reports that Carvajal is keen to continue playing and is weighing up his options after leaving the Santiago Bernabéu. Liverpool will now decide whether his experience and short-term availability make him a suitable addition to Andoni Iraola’s squad.
