Former child actress Anna Slotky, who played Kevin McCallister’s bespectacled sister in the first two Home Alone films, has been seen in Los Angeles after leaving Hollywood behind for a career in law.
Now 45, Slotky was photographed running errands in the city in a relaxed outfit of a loose brown shirt and denim shorts. She wore her auburn hair loose, with glasses and a gold necklace, and was seen speaking on the telephone during the outing.
Her appearance marks a striking change of direction for the actress, who stopped working in television in 2000 and went on to qualify as a lawyer.
Slotky appeared as Brooke McCallister in Home Alone in 1990 and reprised the role in Home Alone 2: Lost in New York two years later. The films starred Macaulay Culkin as Kevin, the young boy accidentally left behind when his family travelled to Paris.
She also became familiar to television audiences as Ruth Ann Torkelson in the sitcom The Torkelsons, and had roles in Sister, Sister, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Doctor Doctor and Step by Step.
Her final acting credit was a guest appearance in the Fox series Get Real in 2000. She subsequently studied law at the University of California, Davis, and was admitted to the State Bar of California in June 2009. The bar lists her as Anna RS Reitano, also known as Anna Slotky, and confirms that her licence is active. Slotky spent more than a decade as a Los Angeles County deputy public defender. Her current campaign website says she is now a deputy county counsel in the county’s Justice and Safety Division, where she supervises civil litigation and advises departments involved in public safety and youth violence prevention. She is also campaigning for a seat on the Los Angeles County Superior Court in the 2026 election. Her campaign describes her as having more than 17 years’ experience as a Los Angeles lawyer, including work in criminal, juvenile, civil and government law. Slotky married animator James Reitano in 2011 and has largely kept out of the public eye since moving on from acting.
