Milwaukee is set for a cooler start to the week before temperatures climb above average by Wednesday, with the National Weather Service describing the early outlook as a brief return to more seasonal conditions.
Monday, October 26, is expected to remain mostly cloudy, with north-easterly winds of 10 to 15mph and a high of 58°F. The temperature will fall to around 50°F overnight as skies become partly cloudy.
Tuesday will stay mostly cloudy but slightly milder, reaching 62°F with south-easterly winds. The National Weather Service said an isolated sprinkle could develop on Monday evening, particularly across northern parts of the area, but the wider forecast remains largely dry through Wednesday.
Milwaukee weather forecast turns warmer before rain arrives
Temperatures are forecast to rise sharply in the middle of the week. Wednesday should bring partly sunny conditions and a high of 72°F, although the chance of showers will increase overnight.
The most unsettled period is expected from Wednesday night into Thursday, when a cold front moves through southern Wisconsin. Thursday could reach 74°F, with partly cloudy skies and a chance of showers, while south-westerly winds are expected to reach 5 to 15mph.
Cooler air will return behind the front. Friday is forecast to be partly cloudy with a chance of showers and a high of 68°F, followed by a mostly cloudy Saturday reaching 66°F. High pressure should help keep much of the weekend relatively quiet, although showers remain possible.
