Robert Kelker-Kelly, the actor best known for playing Bo Brady on Days of Our Lives, died from arteriosclerotic heart disease, a medical examiner in Missouri has confirmed.
The 62-year-old died on 3 October at his home in St Peters, Missouri. The Office of the Regional Medical Examiner in St Charles County ruled the manner of death natural, with the finding released almost four weeks after his death.
Robert Kelker-Kelly’s cause of death
Kelker-Kelly had complained of chest and arm pain before he became unresponsive, according to a police report obtained by People. His wife, Allison Kelly, reportedly found him in the bedroom after returning with him from the airport.
Police and emergency medical crews were called to the property after reports that an unconscious man was not breathing. Life-saving measures were attempted, but were unsuccessful. Officers said there was nothing suspicious about the circumstances.
Arteriosclerotic heart disease is associated with the hardening and narrowing of the arteries. The medical examiner’s ruling confirms the condition as the cause of death.
Kelker-Kelly joined Days of Our Lives in 1992, taking over the role of Bo Brady from Peter Reckell. He played the character opposite Kristian Alfonso’s Hope Brady and Lisa Rinna’s Billie Reed before Reckell returned to the role in 1995.
He later appeared as Stavros Cassadine in General Hospital and also featured in Port Charles, Winter Heat and Touched by an Angel.
