Selma Blair has spoken publicly for the first time since her airplane arrest, saying she never intended to hurt or frighten anyone during the incident on a flight to JFK Airport.
In an emotional video posted on Instagram, the actress apologised to those who said they had been affected by her behaviour, while saying her lawyers had advised her not to discuss the details as her legal case continues.
“Not one day ever have I intended to hurt or frighten anyone a day in my life,” Blair said. “To the people that I disappointed, that I hurt, that I frightened, alarmed, I am so sorry.”
Blair was arrested after allegedly punching and biting flight attendants aboard a Delta flight on October 11. She was later accused of kicking a police officer and a nurse while receiving medical attention.
She has been charged with two felony counts of second-degree assault relating to the officer and nurse, and has pleaded not guilty. Her next court date is scheduled for January 19, 2027.
Blair thanked supporters for their messages, saying they had meant everything to her, her son Arthur Saint Bleick and her service dog, Scout.
She said she was now concentrating on her health and her son, and ended the video by sending her love and gratitude to those who had contacted her.
Her representative has previously said Blair experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged behaviour.
