Selma Blair said she was “sad” and “not great” hours before she was allegedly involved in a physical altercation with two flight attendants on a Delta flight from Los Angeles to New York.
The actress made the comments in a social media post on Sunday, before the reported in-flight incident. She wrote: “I’m sad. I’m grateful. I hope. I am not great.”
Authorities described Blair as a “physically abusive passenger” after the alleged incident, while her representative said she had experienced a medical emergency that led to the conduct.
The two flight attendants reportedly suffered injuries, with one taken to hospital. After the aircraft landed at JFK Airport, Blair was taken into custody and transported to hospital for evaluation.
Her representative said Blair received immediate medical attention after landing and was in a stable condition.
The incident comes against the backdrop of Blair’s public discussion of her health. She revealed in 2018 that she had been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and has spoken openly about her experiences since then.
Blair was also involved in a separate in-flight incident in 2016, which she later said occurred after she mixed alcohol with medication. She publicly apologised for her behaviour at the time.
