Stevie Nicks’s younger brother, Christopher Aaron Nicks, has died aged 72 after a private two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer.
His daughter, Nixi Parkinson Nicks, announced that he died on Friday, September 4, surrounded by family. She said he had kept his illness private because he did not want people to worry about him.
Christopher was Stevie Nicks’s only sibling and maintained a close connection with the Fleetwood Mac singer throughout her career.
He helped manage merchandise on some of her solo tours and introduced her on stage during the Rock a Little, The Other Side of the Mirror, Street Angel and Enchanted tours.
Christopher also appeared in promotional videos for Nicks’s songs Talk to Me and I Can’t Wait, and received a co-writing credit on The Nightmare from her 1986 album Rock a Little.
Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood paid tribute by sharing a photograph of Stevie and Christopher. He said Christopher’s death had brought back memories of his life and of the many experiences connected with the band.
In her announcement, Nixi remembered her father as someone who had made a lasting impression on many people, including his friends, whom she said meant the world to him.
