Donald Trump has again drawn attention to comments about Ohio Senate hopeful John Husted’s backside during a Republican campaign appearance in Highland Heights, Kentucky.
Speaking to supporters, the president said he had been unable to take his eyes off Husted’s rear, despite Husted not being a candidate in the Kentucky event’s state.
Trump also said Husted’s shoulders and jawline had caught his attention, describing it as the first time he had checked out a man. He added that he does not usually look at men in that way.
The remarks follow earlier comments from Trump that he had examined Husted’s backside to assess whether he looked like an athlete.
Pete Buttigieg previously criticised Trump over those comments in an interview. Trump has nevertheless returned to the subject while campaigning for Husted as part of the Republican Party’s midterm push.
