Measles cases in the US have risen above 4,000 so far this year, reaching a record level, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has reported.
The agency said 4,080 confirmed cases had been recorded across the country as of Thursday.
The latest figure is well above the 2,289 cases reported during 2025, which was already the highest annual total in the US for three decades.
Cases have been reported in most states, as well as Washington DC, underscoring the widespread reach of the contagious disease.
