Gary “Angry” Anderson led Rose Tattoo on stage during the Australian hard rock band’s 2026 European tour, in what was intended to be their final run of shows on the continent.
The tour, billed as “Rock’n’Roll Outlaws – One Last Ride”, marked five decades since Rose Tattoo formed in Sydney in 1976. The band had been scheduled to perform across Germany, Sweden, Norway, Belgium, Austria, Hungary, Poland and Switzerland.
However, the farewell tour was cut short after Anderson was admitted to hospital with an undisclosed medical issue. Rose Tattoo announced on 10 August that all remaining European dates had been cancelled.
In a statement, the band said it was “absolutely devastated” that it could not continue the tour and asked fans to respect Anderson’s privacy and that of his family. Ticket-holders were told to seek refunds from their original point of purchase.
Rose Tattoo’s official tour announcement described the European concerts as the last opportunity for fans to see the group live on the continent after more than 50 years of rock’n’roll performances.
