Steve Matheson, a father of four from Utah, died after being struck by lightning while riding a jet ski near Fort De Soto Park in Florida. Deputies from the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office were called to the area shortly after 6.30pm on Saturday following reports that a man on a personal watercraft had been hit by lightning. A 23-year-old university student has been shot dead during a home invasion in Sydney’s south-west, with police investigating whether the attackers went to the wrong house or mistook him for someone else. A mother whose Kia Sportage was stolen in Chigwell, Essex, used the Apple MacBook left inside it to track down the vehicle within minutes.
