Search warrants used against Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor were unlawful, a London judge has said, after Thames Valley Police agreed to their cancellation following searches of two of his properties. Justice Nicholas Hilliard said the force had made a significant error when applying for the warrants. The agreement to quash them was reached before a High Court hearing on Thursday. Mountbatten-Windsor, 66, was arrested on February 19 on suspicion of misconduct in public office and released under investigation after being questioned by police for 11 hours. He has not been charged or exonerated. His lawyers had asked the High Court to invalidate…

Patricia Krenwinkel, who was convicted over the 1969 Tate-LaBianca murders, has been recommended for parole in California for a third time. The preliminary decision was made on Tuesday, according to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Her release would not become final until it has been reviewed by the Board of Parole Hearings and Governor Gavin Newsom. Newsom blocked Krenwinkel’s previous two parole approvals, meaning he could again intervene to keep her in prison. Los Angeles County prosecutors are reportedly expected to urge him to do so. Krenwinkel, 78, is being held at the California Institution for Women in…
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport has been ranked the most stressful airport in America after an analysis of flight disruption, worsening delays and the difficulty of reaching the terminal. The study by Rightway Parking examined 55 of the busiest US airports, using 2025 data from the Bureau of Transportation Statistics alongside Google Maps estimates for driving distance and journey times from city centres. DFW recorded a delay rate of 27.86 per cent, while 2.76 per cent of flights were cancelled. Delays were also found to have risen by 33.67 per cent since 2021. The airport’s location added to its overall score.…
A British judge has ruled that search warrants used to raid the homes of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor were unlawfully issued, in a significant setback for the Thames Valley Police investigation into the former prince’s links to Jeffrey Epstein. The warrants were obtained shortly before Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested in February on suspicion of misconduct in public office. He was held for about 12 hours while officers questioned him and searched his properties. The judge, sitting in London, found that police had relied on the wrong law when applying for permission to conduct the searches. Thames Valley Police accepted that the warrants had…
At least 18 protesters were removed from Donald Trump’s rally in San Antonio after repeatedly interrupting the event, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said. Authorities or security escorted people from Freeman Coliseum as demonstrators drew boos from the crowd. No arrests were made, although two people were issued criminal trespass warnings and everyone involved was told to leave the premises. The disruption began fewer than 10 minutes into the president’s speech, when one person left the area in front of the stage while shouting. A man wearing a red hat appeared to grab the person’s hair, sparking a physical confrontation…
A young driver accused of injuring 10 Newcastle Knights fans with his BMW had previously been warned about driving noisily and at speed along the quiet Sydney street where he lived, neighbours have said. Indika Bambrick Samarasinghe, who graduated from Waverley College last year, was arrested after NSW Police allege he lost control of his gold 2006 BMW convertible in Newcastle on October 3. The car, which bore the registration plate ‘INDIKA’, was a familiar sight outside the family’s home in Randwick, in Sydney’s eastern suburbs. Neighbours described it as noisy and modified, and said they had seen or heard…
The USS Abraham Lincoln has returned to San Diego after one of the US Navy’s longest carrier deployments, with Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth presenting its crew with the Presidential Unit Citation. The award is the highest honour a US military unit can receive and is generally reserved for significant achievement in combat. Hegseth flew to the carrier on Wednesday to recognise its service during the war against Iran. He rejected attempts to portray the Lincoln as a failure, saying there had been efforts to make it “some sort of a symbol, a symbol of dysfunction or a symbol of low…
