An anonymous juror has revealed she initially believed Lindsay Clancy was criminally responsible for the deaths of her three children before changing her vote during tense deliberations involving what she described as “big personalities” in the room. The juror, identified only as juror No 5, told CBS Boston that she ultimately voted to find Clancy not guilty by reason of insanity after concluding that prosecutors had failed to remove what she called “too much grey area” from the case. Clancy’s trial at Plymouth County Superior Court in Massachusetts ended in a mistrial on Friday, September 4, after the 12-member jury…

Account recovery attacks are increasingly being used to bypass multi-factor authentication, with cyber criminals impersonating employees and persuading help-desk staff to reset passwords or move authentication to devices they control. The shift has made service desks an important part of an organisation’s identity-security boundary. While multi-factor authentication can prevent stolen passwords from being used on their own, a weak recovery process may allow attackers to replace the additional protection altogether. Employees regularly lose phones, damage devices, change telephone numbers or mislay security keys. When self-service recovery is unavailable, support agents may have powers to reset passwords, remove authentication methods, issue…

Martin Odegaard’s return to form has been likened to a £100 million signing by former Arsenal midfielder Paul Merson, who believes the captain could prove decisive for Mikel Arteta’s side this season. Odegaard has scored three goals in Arsenal’s opening four matches, a significant improvement on last term when the Norway international managed only one goal in all competitions. “He is back to what he was two years ago,” Merson told Sky Sports. “If he can keep on playing the way he’s playing, that’s like a £100m new signing.” The midfielder’s recent performances have followed an injury-disrupted campaign in which…

Police in Readington Township, New Jersey, are trying to identify a man repeatedly seen riding an electric bicycle naked along local trails. The Readington Township Police Department said it had received sporadic reports over several years about the cyclist, whose latest appearance was reported on Friday, September 4. Officers said the man was photographed during the incident, with parts of the image obscured before it was released publicly. In a light-hearted appeal, the department described him as a “free-spirited cyclist” and said he appeared to be wearing “considerably less safety equipment than we would recommend”. Authorities have asked anyone who…

Donald Trump gave four White House aides cash gifts totalling $155,000 last year, including $45,000 payments to Natalie Harp, Margo Martin and Chamberlain Harris, newly published financial disclosures show. Walt Nauta, the director of Oval Office operations, reported receiving a further $20,000 from the president. The payments were recorded in the aides’ annual declarations as gifts “for the holidays” and were made separately from their government salaries. The disclosures, published by the White House late last week, do not specify when the money was handed over. Three of the filings list Mr Trump’s Palm Beach, Florida address as the source,…

Three jurors who deliberated in the Lindsay Clancy murder trial have revealed that 11 of the 12-member panel were prepared to find the Massachusetts mother not guilty by reason of insanity before a single holdout led to a mistrial. Clancy, 36, had admitted killing her three children but denied criminal responsibility, arguing that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis after being prescribed a cocktail of medication. The jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict at Plymouth Superior Court on Friday, meaning Clancy could face a retrial over the deaths of Cora, five, Dawson, three, and eight-month-old Callan in January…

The Trump administration has proposed sweeping changes to the 2030 US census that would exclude many non-citizens from the figures used to allocate political power, while removing questions on race, ethnicity and sexual orientation from the national questionnaire. The proposals, issued by the Census Bureau and posted for public inspection on Wednesday, 9 September 2026, would represent a fundamental change to the way the United States counts its population. They are expected to face legal challenges and have not yet been finalised. Under the plan, lawful permanent residents would continue to be included in the apportionment count, but people in…
