MTV reality star Davis Mallory has publicly introduced Rachel Vaughan as his girlfriend, nearly a year after saying he no longer identified as gay.
Mallory, 43, shared photographs of the couple on Instagram over the weekend, showing them kissing, embracing and travelling together. In one post, he wrote: “It’s crazy what love can do. I love you @rachelevaughanaa.”
A second video montage was captioned: “Thankful for new memories that someday turn to old photographs.” Vaughan also posted pictures of the pair, offering her own account of how they first met.
“First day I met Davis in the middle of the ocean we pet wild horses and hitchhiked up the valley,” she wrote.
Mallory told TMZ that he met Vaughan in Hawaii in February 2022 while DJing at a wedding. The pair initially became friends and travelled together before beginning a romantic relationship in August 2026. They do not currently live together, according to the report.

The relationship announcement follows comments Mallory made at the Arise House of Prayer and Worship in Hawaii in September 2025, when he described a change in how he viewed his sexuality and credited God with leading him away from what he called a “gay lifestyle”.
“I lived the gay lifestyle for about 20 years. I was on a television show, The Real World, and I came out on the show as a gay Christian, but God really pulled me out of that lifestyle a year ago,” he said.
Mallory said he had experienced dreams which he interpreted as signs of “spiritual warfare”. He also performed his song Baptized during the church appearance.
He later shared a statement on Instagram in which he wrote that living according to what he described as God’s design was central to his beliefs.
Before his comments in Hawaii, Mallory had spoken publicly about the difficulty of reconciling his sexuality with his conservative Christian upbringing. In 2018, he told Out magazine that he had hoped his appearance on reality television would provide positive representation for gay men of faith.
“I went onto the show with the hopes of making a positive representation of what it meant to be a gay man,” he said at the time, adding that viewers had told him his story encouraged them to come out to their families.
Mallory made his television debut on the 18th season of The Real World, which was set in Denver and aired from 2006 to 2007. He went on to appear in three seasons of MTV’s The Challenge: The Inferno 3 in 2007, The Duel II in 2009 and Rivals in 2011.
