Arsenal have agreed a deal to sign Georgian teenager Andria Bartishvili, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reporting that the 17-year-old has completed his medical.
Romano said Bartishvili can be considered a new Arsenal player, with the contract set to be signed and the agreement formally sealed. The attacking midfielder is expected to join the Gunners’ first team in the summer of 2027, when he turns 18.
“Medical completed, contract set to be signed and deal formally sealed,” Romano wrote in an update on Friday.
Bartishvili’s arrival will not be immediate. He is currently on loan at Iberia 1999, having made his name in Georgian football as one of the country’s most promising young attacking players.
Arsenal stepped up their pursuit of the teenager earlier this summer after reportedly facing competition from Liverpool and Juventus. BBC Sport previously reported that the north London club had made a formal pre-contract offer for the Georgia Under-21 international.
The move represents another investment in youth from Arsenal, who have sought to secure highly rated prospects before their value rises in the senior transfer market.
Arsenal hope Bartishvili can follow Kvaratskhelia’s path
Bartishvili has been compared in Georgia with Paris Saint-Germain forward Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, whose performances for Napoli established him as one of Europe’s leading attacking talents.
Arsenal will hope their latest Georgian signing can develop along a similar path, although he will face significant competition for a place once he becomes eligible to join the first-team squad.
For now, the agreement gives the Gunners control of one of the country’s most closely watched young players, with Bartishvili’s move to London set to be completed after his 18th birthday.
