A man has died after an alleged fatal assault at a unit block in Ermington, in Sydney’s north-west, with a 30-year-old man arrested and being questioned by police.
Emergency services were called to the complex on Lister Avenue at about 1.15am on Friday, where officers found a man believed to be in his 40s suffering serious injuries.
NSW Police said officers began CPR before paramedics arrived. The injured man was taken to hospital but died shortly after arrival.
He has not yet been formally identified.
The 30-year-old suspect was arrested at the scene and taken to Gladesville Police Station, where inquiries are continuing. No charges have been laid.
Officers from Ryde Police Area Command have established a crime scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
