The family of Ana María Ramírez Cetina has launched a GoFundMe appeal after the 24-year-old nanny was among nine people killed when a private plane crashed near Greenacres, Florida.
The crash happened on November 1 and is being investigated by the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). Ana María was travelling with members of the family whose children she cared for, including Adam Robinson, Helen Sharp, and their children Emma and Charlie.
In the fundraiser’s description, her mother, Angelica, and sister, Angie, said Ana María had “a lifetime of dreams ahead of her” before her life was cut short.
Ana María was also a biomedical engineer who had moved to the United States in search of greater opportunities. Her family said she became “an irreplaceable part of a family” while working as a nanny.
The appeal is seeking 26,000 dollars to help her family following her death. It had raised more than 19,000 dollars at the time of publication.
“No donation can bring Ana María back,” Angelica and Angie wrote. “But together we can show her family that her life left a lasting impact, that her kindness lives on in our memories, and that they don’t have to face this pain alone.”
Angie said in an interview that she had spoken to her sister shortly before the ill-fated flight. “We did a video call, she showed me the children, she showed me the plane,” she said.
