A 911 call from a Florida youth soccer game captured a league director asking police to remove the mother of a three-year-old player after a dispute on the sidelines.
Jul Henry, the league director, told the dispatcher that the parent was being unruly, alleging that she had followed him, called him names and filmed him for social media.
Henry urged officers to attend quickly, saying the family was about to leave. “Can you have someone quickly get here? Because they’re about to leave here in 10 minutes,” he said. “This needs to be like a rush.”
He later added: “I just want her off the property, please, immediately.”
However, police arriving at the Winter Park field found that the parents were upset because their son had been penalised for playing too well and removed from the game.
Henry told officers the boy would no longer be permitted to participate in the league because of his parents’ behaviour. Police advised the family that any disagreement over a refund would be a civil matter.
The three-year-old, identified as Nevada, had been scoring goal after goal before the sideline dispute escalated into a police call.
Despite the request for an urgent police response, officers said the family co-operated and left the field without incident. No arrests were made and no criminal charges were filed.
