Patchy fog is expected to disrupt parts of the Washington DC area on Thursday morning before clearing to leave sunny skies and temperatures of about 74F (23C), according to the National Weather Service and the FOX 5 Weather Team.
Visibility may be reduced for commuters, with forecasters advising drivers to allow extra time and take care on affected roads. In areas away from the fog, morning temperatures will remain in the 40s and 50s Fahrenheit.
Cloud will gradually break up through Thursday afternoon as light winds accompany a marked rise in temperatures from Wednesday’s readings in the 60s.
Friday is expected to be the warmest day of the week, with sunshine, a high around 75F (24C) and breezier conditions developing later in the day.
The weather will turn cooler for Halloween on Saturday, when temperatures are forecast to reach the low to mid-60s Fahrenheit. Skies will become cloudier, but the evening is expected to stay dry for trick-or-treaters.
Rain is not expected in the Washington DC region until late next week, while temperatures are forecast to climb back into the 70s by Tuesday and Wednesday.
Residents will also need to turn their clocks back by one hour early on Sunday, November 1, as daylight saving time comes to an end.
