Four Boyd High School students face felony charges after police said a 14-year-old football player was violently hazed and assaulted in a school locker room in Texas.
Two 17-year-olds, Chason Lee-Earl Tucker and Noah Davis Stevens, are being prosecuted as adults on charges of unlawful restraint and injury to a child causing bodily injury. Two other students, whose names have not been released because they are juveniles, face charges through the youth justice system.
The alleged incident took place in the school’s field house on September 3, according to the Boyd Police Department. Investigators said the victim was a junior varsity player and that officers interviewed him, witnesses and others involved before seeking arrest warrants.
Sworn statements cited by local media allege that the boy was targeted inside the locker room, where he was restrained and attacked. The allegations include claims that his clothing was pulled or torn during the incident before a coach intervened.
Police initially announced an investigation on September 4, saying officers were reviewing evidence and determining whether Texas law or school policies had been breached. Arrest warrants for the four students were issued on September 16.
Boyd Independent School District said it was conducting a separate investigation into a potential Title IX violation. The district said it would take appropriate action once that process was complete, but added that it could not release further information because the case involved confidential student records.
Court documents also indicate that the student reported the alleged hazing to coaches. One coach was reportedly said to have told him the matter should be dealt with in the locker room and did not need to be escalated to senior officials.
The Boyd Police Department said the investigation remains active and urged anyone with relevant information to contact officers. All four students are accused, not convicted, and the allegations have not been tested in court.
