Madonna did not buy Angelina Jolie’s former Los Angeles mansion, despite reports linking the singer to the $24.75 million property, the actress’s estate agent has said.
Ernie Carswell, who co-listed Jolie’s historic Cecil B DeMille estate, said during an episode of “Real Talk” that Madonna was not the buyer. He did not disclose who had purchased the home.
The mansion was sold on September 24 after being advertised for almost $30 million. The buyer’s identity had not been revealed.
Reports later claimed Madonna had acquired the property, citing coverage from The Real Deal and Robb Report. Carswell has rejected that claim.
Madonna had previously been linked to the estate. In August, it was reported that representatives acting for her had arranged a private virtual tour after she expressed an interest in buying the house.
The 11,000-square-foot mansion was once owned by film-maker Cecil B DeMille. The 2.1-acre estate includes six bedrooms, 10 bathrooms, a guesthouse, pool house, gym and tea house, as well as views across the Hollywood Hills.
Jolie bought the property for $24.5 million in 2017 and ultimately sold it for $24.75 million.
