Maya Jama made her film debut at the London premiere of The Gentlemen season two on Wednesday, joining Theo James, Kaya Scodelario and Guy Ritchie at the Guildhall Art Gallery.
The television presenter and Love Island host commanded attention in a custom leather gown created by her stylist Rhea Francois. The daring design marked Jama’s first appearance at a film premiere and her acting debut as Aisha, the wife of a criminal associate of James’s character, Eddie Horniman.
James embraced the evening’s crime-world theme in a sharply tailored bespoke suit, echoing Eddie’s transformation from aristocratic heir to criminal power broker. His character is now determined to regain complete control of his family estate and expand his influence.
Scodelario returned as the impeccably dressed Susie Glass in a semi-sheer Paolo Sebastian corset gown, accessorised with diamonds. Susie is the daughter of Ray Winstone’s crime boss Bobby Glass, whose cannabis empire is spread across English country estates.
The new series picks up a year after Eddie and Susie joined forces to operate within Bobby’s criminal organisation. Their ambitions soon bring them into conflict with Bobby, who is wary of their plans to expand the business and move beyond his control.
Netflix’s official preview reveals that Eddie and Susie’s operation will also reach the lakeside villas of Italy, where they attempt to establish a foothold while navigating new criminal alliances. ([netflix.com](https://www.netflix.com/tudum/articles/the-gentlemen-season-2-release-date-photos))
Hugh Bonneville attended with his partner Heidi Kadlecova after joining the cast as the colourful Lord Hawthorne. His character becomes part of the aristocratic world Eddie is attempting to exploit while building his criminal empire.
Joely Richardson, who plays Lady Sabrina, brought old-Hollywood glamour to the red carpet in a gold chain gown, while Vinnie Jones opted for a countryside-inspired tweed suit. Jones, returning as estate manager Geoffrey Seacombe, was supported by his partner Emma Ford.
Daniel Ings is also back as Eddie’s hapless brother Freddy Horniman. Giancarlo Esposito reprises his role as Stanley Johnston, whose advice encourages Eddie to break away from Bobby Glass and forge his own path.
Ritchie arrived with his wife Jacqui Ainsley and son Rocco. The director shares Rocco with his former wife, Madonna.
Ray Winstone, who plays Bobby, was joined on the carpet by his daughter, actress Jamie Winstone. Boxer Chris Eubank Jr, who appears as a fighter in the second series, was among the other guests, alongside Jasmine Blackborow, Ruby Sear, Lottie Moss and Giancarlo Esposito.
The second season of The Gentlemen launches on Netflix on Thursday, September 3. The streaming service has already confirmed that Ritchie’s aristocratic crime drama will return for a third series.
