Naomi Watts and her 17-year-old daughter Kai Schreiber have appeared together in Simkhai’s fall 2026 fashion campaign, marking their first joint campaign for a brand.
The mother and daughter were photographed by Mikael Jansson, with styling by Camilla Nickerson, alongside Sage Elsesser, Malcolm McRae, Awar Odhiang and Betsey Gaghan. The campaign was released this week as part of designer Jonathan Simkhai’s latest collection. Watts, 57, wears a textured black dress with a jewel-covered collar and dark sunglasses in one of the studio images. Schreiber appears in a brown and black calf-hair mini dress, carrying a matching handbag.
The pair also model structured white dresses, with Watts in a strapless feathered gown and Schreiber in a fringed design. Another black-and-white image shows Watts in an oversized shirt and wide-leg denim trousers.
Simkhai presented the autumn collection through a lookbook rather than a traditional New York Fashion Week show, featuring a largely neutral palette of black, white, brown and deep plum. Vogue said the range focused on textured updates to tailoring, coats, dresses and separates. ([vogue.com](https://www.vogue.com/fashion-shows/fall-2026-ready-to-wear/jonathan-simkhai))
Speaking to Elle, Watts said she had previously worked with Simkhai and that accepting the campaign invitation “just felt right”. She added that she and her daughter respected the brand, loved the clothes and had an “all-around incredible experience”.
The actress also revealed that she regularly asks Kai for advice before public appearances, praising her daughter’s eye for fashion and her understanding of what suits Watts’s figure. She described Kai’s style as “Kate Moss boho chic”.
Watts shares Kai and 19-year-old Sasha with her former partner, actor Liev Schreiber. Kai has been building a modelling career of her own, making her runway debut for Valentino during Paris Fashion Week in March 2025 before later walking for Iris van Herpen in Paris.
Watts said the influence between them extends to their wardrobes, with Kai exploring clothes her mother kept from the late 1990s and early 2000s, while Watts has begun borrowing handbags from her daughter’s collection.
