BBC Radio 1 is to lose six presenters in a major schedule shake-up, with Dean McCullough, Melvin Odoom and Rickie Haywood-Williams among those leaving as the station makes room for new talent.
Nat O’Leary, James Cusack and Swarzy will also depart the network when the refreshed line-up begins in September.
The changes will bring a number of newer voices to Radio 1, including podcast host and social media personality GK Barry, presenter Charley Marlowe, duo Mylo and Rosie, and Emil Franchi.
Mylo and Rosie will take over the weekday Early Breakfast programme, while Charlie Hedges will remain at the station and present the Live Lounge alongside Jeremiah Asiamah.
Charley Marlowe will join Vicky Hawkesworth on the Friday-to-Sunday mid-morning show, while Emil Franchi will host Weekend Breakfast. GK Barry is also due to present a series of programmes during the year, beginning with a six-week run in September.
Haywood-Williams and Odoom, who have presented together on Radio 1 for seven years, will leave the station alongside McCullough, who has been part of the network’s line-up for six years.
Radio 1 said: “We thank them for their passion, creativity and dedication and wish them all the very best for whatever comes next.”
The changes form part of an overhaul intended to refresh the station’s daytime schedule and introduce a new generation of presenters.
