Police are searching for the mother of a newborn boy after his body was found inside a rubbish bin in Auburn, in Sydney’s west, on Monday 31 August.
Emergency services were called to Harrow Road at about 11.20am following reports that a baby had been discovered in a garbage bin.
New South Wales Police established a crime scene and began investigating the circumstances surrounding the infant’s death.
Officers said they had serious concerns for the welfare of the baby’s mother and urged her to attend the nearest hospital for urgent medical care.
