A threatening email sent to key witness Jason Morrison has been referred to police as the Alan Jones trial continues in Sydney.
The development has placed the alleged communication under criminal investigation while Morrison gives evidence in the case against the veteran broadcaster.
Morrison, a former 2GB presenter and long-time colleague of Jones, has been called to testify about a lunch at which one complainant alleges he was indecently assaulted beneath a table. He has told the court he did not see any inappropriate touching.
The witness has also rejected suggestions that he tailored his evidence to support Jones, describing the accusation as offensive.
Jones, 85, denies the charges against him. He is facing 22 counts of indecent assault and sexual touching involving six men in a judge-only trial before the NSW Local Court at Sydney’s Downing Centre.
Details of the email, including its author and the precise nature of the alleged threat, have not been disclosed publicly. The trial is continuing.
