A woman has died after being pulled unconscious from the water at Bondi Beach in Sydney, prompting a police investigation.
Emergency services were called to the southern end of the beach at about 12.20am on Sunday after reports that a woman was unresponsive in the water.
Officers from the Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command removed her from the water and began CPR immediately. Despite their efforts, she could not be revived.
The woman is believed to have been in her 30s, but has not yet been formally identified.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death and will prepare a report for the Coroner.
