The San Francisco Bay Area is set for one more day of unusually hot weather on Thursday, with temperatures expected to range from the low 70s to the upper 90s.
The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for the region until 10pm on Thursday, warning that temperatures could remain 10 to 20 degrees above average in some areas.
Inland communities are expected to see the highest temperatures, with parts of the East Bay, North Bay and valleys approaching the upper 90s. Conditions will be cooler along the coast, where highs should remain close to 70 degrees.
Forecasters said humidity and warmer-than-usual overnight temperatures could add to the discomfort before a noticeable easing of the heat arrives from Friday, with breezier and cooler conditions expected into the weekend.
Residents have been advised to drink plenty of fluids, limit strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day and check on vulnerable people, children and pets.
