Stacey Solomon and Joe Swash are leaving Pickle Cottage, the Essex home they moved into in 2021 and spent years transforming into a family base.
The couple have sold the Tudor-style property and said they will move out imminently, bringing an end to five years at the house.
Solomon said the decision had been a difficult one, with the family taking time to discuss the move with their children, friends and neighbours before making the announcement.
“Even the thought of selling Pickle Cottage felt impossible,” she said in a video shared on social media. “We’ve just waited until someone amazing came along and fell in love with Pickle Cottage.”
The property became well known to the couple’s followers as they documented its renovations, from work inside the house to changes across its grounds, including the creation of a duck pond.
Solomon also wrote about the refurbishment in her book Tap To Tidy At Pickle Cottage. She said the house remained a deeply special place, where she had given birth to her two daughters and where she and Swash married in 2022.
The couple’s new home is further out and offers more land. Solomon said they wanted room for a larger vegetable patch, more rescue animals and the possibility of bringing horses back into their lives.
“It’s the best for our family,” Swash said of the move.
Solomon acknowledged that the new property needed considerable work but said she was looking forward to starting another renovation project after enjoying the process of restoring Pickle Cottage.
