A decade after Terry Brisk was shot dead while deer hunting in rural Minnesota, the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office has increased the reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction to $50,000.
Brisk was killed on November 7, 2016, on his parents’ property near Little Falls. No one has been arrested in connection with the murder.
The sheriff’s office said the investigation remains active, with officers continuing to pursue leads, review information from the public and re-examine evidence gathered at the scene.
Fresh appeal in Terry Brisk murder investigation
Investigators believe Brisk was shot with his own rifle and that the person responsible was close to him before the killing. They also believe the two may have interacted before the shooting.
The rifle was later recovered at a separate location, according to information published by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Authorities have previously appealed for information about a blue van or minivan that may have been in the area on the day Brisk died.
Sheriff Shawn Larsen said the increased reward was intended to encourage anyone with information to speak to investigators.
“Even the smallest piece of information could be critical in helping us solve this case,” he said. “Ten years have passed, but our commitment to finding answers and bringing justice to Terry and his family remains as strong as ever.”
The sheriff’s office said information that may not have appeared significant at the time could now help establish what happened and identify the person responsible.
Brisk’s family has also renewed its appeal, saying relatives have spent 10 years living with unanswered questions and uncertainty over his death.
In a statement, the family urged anyone who witnessed something, was involved or had kept information secret to come forward. They said they were seeking answers rather than revenge and that Brisk deserved to have his story told.
“We cannot bring him back, but someone out there has the power to help bring our family some peace,” the family said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office on 320-632-9233.
